As of Sept. 25 the craziness continues! Can you tell us who to call to register our concerns and complaints about this? It's really driving me nuts as it seems so unsafe and so unnecessary.

thanks for writing about this. i frequently drive this route and was wondering if this orange cone business was ever going to be removed.
this stretch has always required special driver alertness--people being confused about how to access Route 40 vs Franklin, and the new signs and cones confuse them even more. sometimes there is quite a backup and swerving. it's not safe for cars, let alone pedestrians

We just spoke to Adrienne Barnes from the city Transportation Dept. who says they are, as we speak, discussing how to change the configuration in that intersection to make things safer. They want to see if there's a better way to configure things until the whole water main repair project is done and they can go back to normal. We are going to post an update on the Brew shortly. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, Sarah! Look for changes as soon as tomorrow.

Thank you for investigating this issue. I feel better getting an explanation. Water main break. Why am I not surprised. The least the City Dept. of Transportation and Social Security Administration could've done was to inform the public. So, thanks for doing their job for them. And we'll just wait until it's all fixed and God knows when that'll be.
