Mayor Sheila Dixon admits to a few errors in judgment in her political career (that shoe-banging incident “wasn’t good”) but still seems to blame a lot of her problems on her former boyfriend, developer Ronald Lipscomb.

Dixon opened up on the phone last night, to The Baltimore Sun’s Annie Linskey and said “the bad choice I made was getting in a relationship with Ron Lipscomb.”

There was no apology or other direct reference to her recent conviction on charges she embezzled gift cards meant for the needy, except to say that she would have gotten on the stand to defend herself  if only her lawyers had been able to attack Lipscomb. “If he had testified,” she told Linskey, “I would have testified.”

Today, Dixon’s lawyers go back to court to argue that Dixon should get a new trial, in part because of juror misconduct (including that Facebook gabbing which went on during the trial and afterwards, as WBAL has reported.) Look for those infamous jurors to return to court today to extend their 15 minutes of fame to 20.
