On Wednesday morning, former ESPN Zone workers gathered in the Inner Harbor to protest their former employer, who shut down the business on June 15 without warning. “Workers learned of the closing through the media,” reported Maryland Legal Aid.

During Wednesday’s gathering, workers protested that the Disney-owned company’s conduct was in violation of the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), which requires that an employer provide workers with a minimum of 60 days notice before shutting down and terminating employment.  Maryland Legal Aid said that the terminated employees will give ESPN seven days before moving on to legal action.

Wednesday’s event was organized by United Workers, and the former employers are represented by Maryland Legal Aid.

Videographer Bill Hughes captured this original footage during the protest.
