Okay certain persons have been stealing plastic bread trays belonging to H&S Bakeries and the owner of the company —  Harbor East developer John Paterakis, aka “the Bread Man” — does not like this at all. Not at all.

According to a weekend Wall Street Journal piece, he has taken to hiring private investigators to help him catch the gangs that have made midnight raids on Baltimore area McDonalds restaurants and boosted his bread trays.

Paterakis is not alone.

Turns out — who knew? —  there’s big bucks in plastic. The dairies, bakeries, beverage makers think that stolen trays and milk crates is such a big problem they’ve banded together and formed Combat, or Control of Missing Baskets and Trays.
