Nate Evans needs help! Evans, the city’s Bicycle Coordinator, posted the news on his Bike Baltimore blog today that the Baltimore Department of Transportation is looking to hire a second bike planner. It’s a part-time, no-benefits gig but there’s a lot going on and it’s no surprise the city is looking to supplement Evans’ good work.

As Evans points out in an earlier post, it’s not just bike-jackings at stake here, as serious as those are. On Thursday, the city had another bike fatality: 12-year-old Joshua Blackwell lost control of his bike, according to police, and was struck and killed by a car in West Baltimore.
