14 Downtown hotel projects canceled or delayed
According to a recent article in the Sun, over a dozen planned hotel projects in the downtown area have been “stalled or scrapped,” largely due to an inability to secure financing (in some cases as a result of the recession), the article reports. “We’re dealing with a very dramatic market correction,” Downtown Partnership president Kirby Fowler told the paper. “Now we’re suffering from the abundance of all those projects.” The Inn at Penn Station and the Jefferson Building on Charles are two examples of projects that have delayed their opening dates.
