E-book version of latest Laura Lippman book outsells hardbacks
In its first week out, “I’d Know You Anywhere” sold more e-book copies than hardcovers, according to today’s Wall Street Journal.
Does this say something about our increasingly screen-centered lives or Lippman’s demographic? Considering the price difference — $12.99 vs. $25.99 — it’s a no brainer for the e-book people.
Baltimore’s hometown publishing phenom apparently set a bit of a record with this feat. This is the first time, a senior vice president from HarperCollins told the WSJ , that any book “of consequence” has done better digitally than dead-treeishly.
