While a Florida pastor grabs headlines by vowing to burn Muslims’ holy book on the anniversary of 9/11,  a north Baltimore house of worship, Govans Presbyterian Church, offers a different message. (UPDATE: He’s now cancelled it.)

“God bless our Muslim neighbors,” reads the sign, in front of the stone church building on York  Road.

But if you think the people hating on Muslims these days are only down South, read some of the comments posted on this story by The Baltimore Sun from a few days ago, quoting Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski condemning Terry Jones, pastor of the nondenominational Dove Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla.

(Jones is the guy promoting International Burn-a-Quran Day” despite condemnations by the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the White House.)
