Tessa Hill-Aston elected as first female NAACP President in 30 years

City Housing Department employee and public housing activist Tessa Hill-Aston has been elected by the Baltimore branch of the NAACP to succeed MarvinL. Doc” Cheatham as President of of the branch, according to WBALTV.com.
Hill-Aston, who served as Vice-President to Cheatham, was elected to her new role on Tuesday and will be sworn in January 1, 2011.
