Vacant shell once sold for over half a million? Not really …

Correction

The Brew recently reported on a tour that prospective buyers took of city-owned vacant property in West Baltimore, including a partially-burned shell in the Cylburn neighborhood: 2915 Woodland Avenue, which we said last sold for $558,964 in 2008.

We referred to that as “a weird history,” since the city was now selling it for $10,000.  Turns out we should have double-checked with the Land Records database instead of relying on Zillow.

The spooky-looking structure at 2915 Woodland was part of a 19-lot tax take-back, and the price was for all those lots. Ouch. Many thanks to City Paper’s Edward Ericson Jr. for pointing out the mistake.
