We’ve had it.

Yup, we’ve had it with poring through the Board of Estimates agenda and critiquing Baltimore’s busted economic development strategy and being thrown out of lobbies, parking lots and public meetings and moderating salacious steelworker comments and being criticized by Andalusian purists for – unpardonable sin of sins – putting sugar in a gazpacho recipe.

For two weeks, we’re taking a break from all that.

Starting today and lasting until Aug. 15, Baltimore Brew is going on a little summer vacation. Not sure if we’ll be reading Russian novels in an air-conditioned library or lying around in a heat-addled fugue state with a copy of the News of the World filched from some evidence room, but we’ll be taking a short break from Brewing.

You can still email us at baltimore.brew@gmail.com or editors@baltimorebrew.com. We’ll see all your press releases, darts and laurels, deep dark tips and friendly reminders when we return.

Baltimore Brew is a moderated site that encourages the free and open exchange of ideas in a climate of mutual respect. We reserve the right - but do not assume any obligation - to delete or withhold the publication of comments that violate our standards. Comments that are obscene, libelous or defamatory, or include vicious personal attacks will not be published. Racist remarks, sexist remarks, disgusting stuff, blatant commercial self-promotion – you get the idea – if it crosses our line, we’re not going to run it.

Good for you! And I saw happy to see the City Paper’s  assessment of the Brew as the “gold standard” of actual local online reporting, in contrast to all the others. Cheers! Have a great vacation.

    • Yesterday, when Baltimore web developer and Ignite Baltimore co-founder Mike Subelsky tweeted that he was about to witness Nik Wallenda’s tightrope walk across the Inner Harbor, my ears perked up. Pix to come, Subelsky promised. Oooh, send them along I said! Recognizing his citizen journalist moment, Subelsky kindly agreed and sent along some great photos. [...]
