Designer cries “fowl” on Orioles’ new “cartoon bird”
Above: The O’s redesigned cartoon bird: does it need as much tlc as the team?
Design mavens, Baltimore Orioles fans, do you agree with what this graphic designer says about the baseball team’s new version of the old cartoon bird, released earlier this month?
“It stinks,” writes Von Glitschka, in a post on his “Drawsigner Blog.” He raps the trademarked logo for “the awkward white shape,” “confusing detail such as the bottom of the beak,” “incorrect perspective most noticeable in the eyes,” and more.
Then “the Vonster,” as he refers to himself, goes on to design what he thinks is a better bird. See what you think.
