Another Taxpayers’ Night scheduled
If you missed griping about (or otherwise commenting on) the 2013 Baltimore budget in front of the Board Estimates recently, you can do it in front of the City Council next month – on May 2 at 5 p.m. in City Hall.
The date of the Council’s annual Taxpayers’ Night was announced at yesterday’s City Council meeting.
Today, Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young sent out an email announcing the May 2 meeting date.
“Taxpayers’ Night allows citizens an opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns about the Mayor’s proposed Fiscal Year 2013 budget,” the email read.
Along with concerns about the way the mayor closed a $48 million deficit in her proposed budget, taxpayers might also want some say in how the city would deal with an additional $20.2 million in cuts, should the state legislature fail to held a special session and override a stringent “Doomsday Budget.”
