Francine Halvorsen’s books on food include "Catering Like a Pro," "The Food and Cooking of China," "Eating Around the World in Your Neighborhood" and "Crowd-Pleasing Potluck." The second, revised edition of "Catering Like a Pro" is both a popular read and culinary text. She has also written articles for Food Arts, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, and The Urbanite as well as various e-zines. She is, as well, a professional artist, whose paintings and installations have been exhibited in prominent galleries and is collected in numerous private and public collections. A winner of various awards and honorariums, her work has been reviewed in many fine art publications.

Baltimore’s guerrilla crosswalk artists
Transportation officials don’t like it, but Hampden residents are apparently fed up – they want cross-walks repainted on The Avenue and if the city’s not going to maintain the crosswalks on this busy north Baltimore street, they’re doing it themselves.
