Catsonville terror plot suspect: active on Facebook, possibly married

Above: Muhammad Hussain’s Facebook page

The Facebook page of Muhammad Hussain, arrested today for attempting to bomb an Armed Forces recruitment center in Catonsville, lists him as having 24 online friends and includes a mix of personal information and political comments, including public postings about jihad (detailed in the criminal complaint against him).

The Facebook bio for Hussain, who recently changed his name from Antonio Martinez, says he graduated from Laurel High School in 2005, and expresses concern for the world’s future and his allegiance to Islam:

“In the name of Allah oft forgivig most merciful.IM just a yung brotha from the wrong side of the tracks who embraced Islam. Asalaamualaykum to the muslim ummah I love yall but im worried, were are we gonna be ten years from now idk only Allah does and HE knows best. We gotta rise up inshallah and continue the establishment of Islam on the earth with the help and guidence of Allah we can ya muslimeen!!! rise up ! we are the khalifas of the world. Were are the Lions of this ummah?!!”

The profile also claims he is married to Naimah Ismail-Hussain, who, according to her profile, lives in Boston and will graduate from Pine Manor College, where she works as a “circulation assistant,” in 2011.

Hussain, whose last recorded activity on the site was 20 hours ago, communicated with many people on the site, including his “Afghani brother,” apparently a reference to the undercover FBI  source who helped facilitate the sting operation that led to Hussain’s arrest today.

At the Wednesday hearing in Baltimore before U.S. Magistrate Judge James K. Bredar, the federal public defender assigned to represent Martinez declined to discuss the case but, according to The Baltimore Sun, asked people not to rush to judgment about Martinez.

“It’s very, very early in the case and we hope no one jumps to any conclusions about the guilt of this client,” public defender Joseph Balter said.
