Only days after a second-year engineering student at Johns Hopkins, was run over by a car while riding his bicycle on University Parkway near Homewood, the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board is having a public meeting to discuss the future of transportation in Baltimore, including bike issues.

In particular, the board will be addressing the development of a pedestrian and bike corridor being developed along Annapolis Road to the Westport Light Rail Station in an effort to increase ridership on public transportation.

The meeting will be held at the Baltimore Metropolitan Council located at 1500 Whetstone Way, Suite 300, in Baltimore. They will be accepting comments regarding the 2011-2014 Transportation Improvement Program.
