I found this graffiti-ed message while poking around Mount Vernon a couple of years ago with my camera.

I would have missed it if I hadn’t taken a break from craning my neck to gawk up at the great architecture – and looked down for a moment at the street.

It seemed like a nice sentiment for the city today, after some bruising times and on a holiday that is all about l – o – v – e.
