A plan for re-imagining Carroll Park on the radio

Marc Szarkowski discusses the proposal he developed with The Brew’s Gerald Neily

Radio listeners got a chance today to hear Marc Szarkowski talk about an idea that he and Brew contributor Gerald Neily presented on this site in February – a way to reinvent Carroll Park, Mount Clare and the railroad right-of-way.

Speaking on WYPR-FM with David Warnock, of the Warnock Foundation, Szarkowski discussed their proposal to better connect the north edge of the park with the neighborhood.

Connect Mount Street to the Mount Clare Mansion. Create a portal underneath the CSX tracks to provide access to a Carroll Park Golf Course club house. These guys had some creative ideas. (Their feature on The Brew, with multiple maps, photos and graphics, generated 58 comments.)

(The proposal was developed with support from the Warnock Foundation, which recently established The Social Innovation Journal to solicit and support ideas for improving Baltimore.)
