Gay Street partly reopened after water break
Emergency repairs at Saratoga Street will continue over the weekend

Two lanes of Gay Street have been reopened at Saratoga, allowing direct access to the Jones Falls Expressway from the City Hall area for the first time since a 16-inch water main burst south of the intersection on Wednesday.
Emergency work to fix the underground water line and other damaged utilities will continue over the weekend, reducing Gay Street to one lane tomorrow and Sunday, and back again to two lanes on Monday, the Department of Public Works announced.
Water service has been restored to customers on Gay Street north of Saratoga, but the area will be without water tomorrow afternoon as a new water valve is installed in the street.
Three customers on Gay Street between Lexington and Saratoga streets will remain without water until Saturday evening when all customers are expected to have full service, DPW said today.
