A happy day in Curtis Bay
It was Friday, school was out and this Curtis Bay Elementary School student had good news to share

It was chilly but sunny yesterday at the Filbert Street Community Garden, which is perched on one of the higher spots in South Baltimore.
It was Friday afternoon and kids were streaming out of Curtis Bay Elementary School.
One of them, Norah Truitt-Harris, came running over to garden manager Rodette Jones and thrust a piece of paper in her hand.
“I made the Honor Roll!” she announced with huge smile.
“Let me see,” said Jones, examining the certificate for Good Academic Achievement. “That’s wonderful!”
Norah asked permission to pick some flowers (she is one of many students who have had an opportunity to participate in programs at the garden) and, receiving it, raced off to pluck some daffodils.
Jason Reed, a co-founder and former manager of the garden, happened along and also got a chance to congratulate Norah.
And to be handed four daffodils.
“Where’s mine?” Jones asked teasingly.
All three were just in an infectious good mood.
The Brew happened to be there and, well, we got caught up in the vibe. It was a sweet way to end the week.
