The Citizens Advisory Committee – the volunteer group established to represent the public’s interests to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) – is getting new members, the agency announced this week.

“The new members have a diverse understanding of public transit and will help the MTA continue to improve the service it provides,” MTA CEO Paul Comfort said in a news release.

The CAC is charged with advising the transit agency on its core modes of service – Local Bus, Light Rail, Metro Subway in Baltimore and the statewide Commuter Bus Service.

The new members, with MTA’s biographical descriptions, are:

 • Nancy Huggins: CAC chairperson, serves as a transportation, grants and member services professional for the BWI Business Partnership in Linthicum.

• Liam F. Davis: community liaison for City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young. One key area Davis intends to focus on is how MTA is serving the new employment hub at the Amazon Distribution Center.

• Osh Oshitoye: a statistics researcher for the Department of Education in health data. She will focus on helping the MTA implement technologies for real-time tracking with global positioning system (GPS) data.

• John Mack: an expert in transportation engineering with over 10 years of experience. He intends to lend a perspective from the private and professional sectors.

• Ron Skotz: has served in senior management positions with the Central Maryland Regional Transit Corp. and the Corridor Transportation Corp. He also serves in a leadership capacity with the Transportation Association of Maryland (TAM).

The new members will join members Katherine Hodges, Jean P. Pula, Laurie Lessans, Cecilia Davis, Linda Greene, Barker Much, Sequoia Distance and Bernard Sturtevant.
