Citing financial troubles, the Archdiocese of Baltimore is closing the doors of the historic St. Michaels Catholic church in Upper Fells Point, according to WBALTV.com, which notes that the church first opened to parishioners in 1852.

CASA de Maryland, an organization that works with immigrant communities, is watching the church’s closing closely because it affects more than 700 Hispanic families who will have to look for a new place to worship, according to WBAL.
