Baltimore City Police are still looking for witnesses who may have seen the dirt bike that struck 24-year-old Allison Blanding on May 3 at the West Cold Spring Metro Station parking lot at about 9:50 p.m.

The lot is located on the 4300 block of Wabash Avenue in Park Heights. The dirt bike rider fled the scene.

Blanding died in the hospital the next day from a brain injury, according to reports.

Police spokesman Jeremy Silbert told The Brew, “We believe that several dirt bikes had gathered and were riding and that there are witnesses.”

It is illegal to ride dirt bikes on the street in Baltimore City.

Silbert said he didn’t have a lot of details on the circumstances of the hit-and-run because the Maryland Transit Authority Police took the initial report. “It happened on their parking lot,” he said.

Maryland Transit Authority Police spokesman Paul Shepard, who was first contacted by The Brew last Wednesday, said he was unaware of the incident but would request the Transit Authority Police report.

Blanding is survived by a daughter.

City police ask witnesses to contact them at 410-396-2606. Silbert said the police have already received a few calls.
